TAs Wanted for "Introduction to Arts of China, Japan, Korea" and "Taiwan on Display" (in English)

Course I. "Introduction to Arts of China, Japan, Korea" (conducted in English), Fall 2015/16

This is an introduction to the masterpieces of East Asian visual arts from the neolithic to the modern period. 

It comprises of a 2-hr lecture and 1-hr in-class discussion per week with 2 off-campus museum trips. 

The TA is ideally a graduate student (or at least an upperclassman) fluent in English and with some knowledge of art history or East Asian studies. 

The TA's most important jobs are: 

1. assist with grading 

2. help facilitate the weekly 1hr in-class discussion 

3. help scan images / compile assigned readings

There are two classes offered for this course in Fall 2015.

A total of 2 TAs are needed, 1 for each class.

Course II. "Taiwan on Display" (conducted in English), Fall 2015/16 

At once a history and a museology class, the course analyzes a variety of museums in Taiwan and their constructed narratives with critical readings in museum studies. The museums featured range from archaeology to contemporary art, from natural history to ethnography, and from concrete artifacts to intangible cultural heritage and digitized material. 

The course comprises of a 2-hr lecture and 1-hr in-class discussion per week with occasional guest lectures and 2 museum trips. 

The TA is ideally a graduate student (or at least an upperclassman) fluent in English and with some knowledge of Taiwan studies or museum studies. 

The TA's most important jobs are: 

1. assist with grading 

2. help facilitate the weekly 1hr in-class discussion 

3. help scan images / compile assigned readings
