What are Overseas Summer Programs?
For 3 to 6 weeks during summer, students will have a taste of what it's like to study at some of the best universities around the globe and interact with students coming from different backgrounds. Global vision and language competence are two main takeaways in these programs. Moreover, the relatively short period allows students to examine whether they are fit for the longer Exchange or Visiting Student Program and/or serves to prepare themselves for these programs by developing higher language competence and knowledge of a foreign living environment and teaching methods.
Overseas Summer Programs are at students' own expense. Unlike exchange or visiting students who would often need to deal with matters by themselves, students participating in Overseas Summer Programs will be well assisted and taken care of by the organizing partner universities. The flexible curriculum in Overseas Summer Programs also allows students to arrange a class schedule that best suits their needs.
What kinds of Overseas Summer Programs does NTU offer?
1. NTU Group Programs
In cooperation with prestigious overseas universities and educational institutions, the OIA provides services including course information, application assistance, document submission and fee payment to partner universities, travel accident insurance, group flight ticket booking, pre-departure orientation, and airport pick up. Some of the programs will be accompanied by our staff. After the program completion, the OIA will provide students with official documents for grade register or credit transfer.
Eligibility: Currently enrolled NTU students (including new graduates) who fulfill the requirements set by partner universities.
Application Process: Finish the online application, pay the application fee, and submit the required documents along with the payment receipt to the OIA. Late submissions will be deemed as abandoning the application.
Acceptance: Students must be able to follow the predetermined program schedule and travel with the group from beginning to end (group flight tickets will be booked by the OIA). The timestamp of application completion will be used as the order of granting acceptance。
Application Period: The application period of each program varies and will be announced on the list of summer programs organized by NTU.
2. Individual Programs Needing Nomination
Some of our partner universities provide NTU students with programs with a guaranteed quota, partial waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fee, application fee discount, or scholarships. The application will be submitted through the OIA, and a non-refundable administrative fee of 2,000 NT dollars will be charged. Students will have to pay the application fee to the partner university and take care of flight tickets or insurance by themselves.
Eligibility: Currently enrolled NTU students (including new graduates) who fulfill the requirements set by partner universities.
Application Process: The application must be submitted through NTU with the nomination. Students cannot directly apply to partner universities. Instead, they should finish the online application and submit documents to the OIA, and the OIA will deliver the application to the partner university.
Acceptance and Application Period: The application period of each program varies and will be announced on the List of Individual Programs Needing Nomination by NTU.
3. Programs Open to Any Student, Nomination Not Required
Eligibility: Students who fulfill the requirements set by partner universities.
Application Process: The OIA only shares the information on behalf of the partner universities. Please apply to the partner universities directly.

Note: If students would like to apply for credit transfer, please prepare the official admission letter and submit it to the OIA before departure. OIA will assist in the administrative process.
