Can the application fee be waived?
The application fee covers processing expenses, including administrative tasks and the evaluation of documents, and is non-refundable.
For the recommendation letter requirement, could I submit a letter from a mentor who knows well about my research experience instead of a professor from my current institution?
One recommendation letter from a university faculty member familiar with your research performance is preferable.
Ideally, the recommender should be a mentor in the same academic field or from a reputable origination who is well-versed in your research experience.
Does the recommendation letter have to be sent from the professor using the professor's email, or just am I the one who needs to submit the recommendation letter?
Here are two methods to submit your recommendation Letter during the application process:
1. Direct Upload: Click the “Upload” button to directly submit your completed recommendation letter.
2. Reference List Submission: Click “Reference list,” fill in your recommender's contact information, and click “submit.” Your recommender will then receive an email with instructions on how to refer you online.
How to prepare the Statement of Purpose (SOP)?
We recommend that you provide a Statement of Purpose and contact the professor directly to let them know that you are eager to work with them and your dedication to making a positive contribution to their research endeavors and securing your research position in order to find a good match.
Information may be included in the Statement of Purpose:
• Academic background
• Professional experience (full/part-time, voluntary) related to research fields
• Elaborate on academic/research interests for this Laboratory /Research Center
• Learning motivation
• Goals or expectations for the Summer+ Research Program
• Academic/research interests going forward
Are there scholarships or any financial aid available?
Scholarship opportunities are available for the 2025 NTU Summer+ Chinese Language & Culture Programs offered by NTU Plus Academy. These scholarships are open to students from specific partner universities in the United States, Asia, and Europe. Click here to learn more about these scholarship opportunities.
Scholarships from the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) are available for eligible students participating in the 2025 NTU Summer+ Research Programs. You must be fully accepted into the program before applying for the scholarship. See the International Internship Pilot Program (IIPP) website for eligibility requirements and application details. To ensure timely processing of your scholarship, submit your IIPP application by April 30 and email NTU Plus Academy upon submission.
When will I receive the admission letter?
Upon completing all necessary application steps, including submitting the required documents and payment, your application will undergo review by NTU faculty. Upon acceptance, log in again to the application portal and provide the required information for the admission process. After being reviewed by NTU, you can access and download your admission letter directly from the application portal's admission information tab.
Academic
How many credits can I receive for the program? Can I transfer credit from Plus Academy to my home institution?
The number of credits you can receive depends on your chosen program; details are available on the course information page. For credit transfer from Plus Academy to your home institution, verify your home university's credit transfer policies and confirm with them directly.
When will I receive a transcript?
Upon completing your program, NTU issues official transcripts within 1-2 months. You will be provided with an electronic copy of your transcript.
Visa & Insurance
Do I need a Visa?
Visa requirements for participating in the Plus Academy programs depend on your nationality and the length of your stay.
Please refer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website to check if you qualify for Visa-Exempt Entry. If not, contact your nearest Taiwan (R.O.C) representative office for assistance with a visitor visa application.
Make sure your visa or visa-exempt status allows you to stay for the duration of your Plus Academy program.
Do I need insurance?
Insurance coverage varies by program. We recommend obtaining your own travel and/or accidental insurance before departure for comprehensive coverage during your study abroad.
Cancellation
What is your refund policy?
- The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Some program activities might be optional (depending on the program). If you choose to be absent from these optional activities, the fee for those specific activities will not be refunded.
- Refer to each program's refundable statement for details on specific refund policies.
I decided to withdraw from the program. When will I get my refund?
Refunds are processed after the course ends and are assessed based on individual circumstances. The processing time for refunds ranges from 1.5 to 2 months following the conclusion of the course for any approved refunds.
大陸學生入臺證
我是在海外/港澳地區讀書的大陸籍學生,報名課程後該如何取得入臺證(中華民國臺灣地區入出境許可證)?
臺大短期課程承辦人將協助完成申請與繳費的大陸籍學生辦理入臺證。因辦理須時1~1.5個月,在完成所有申請及繳費步驟後,你需要盡快提交辦理所需文件:
1. 證件用大頭照
2. 大陸地區身份證影本
3. 海外/港澳地區學校在學證明
4. 護照身分頁
5. 有效的海外/港澳地區學生簽證
6. 及其他有助於審查之相關資料
在收到申請文件後,臺大將依據你就讀的大學所在地領區之台北經濟文化辦事處送出申請。請在收到臺大所提供的團號及收件號之通知後,檢具相關文件去電該辦事處,預約時間進行身分確認。在入臺證尚未正式批准前,切勿離開您的所在地(或所在第三國),感謝你的配合。
*請注意,
1. 若從中國大陸出境來臺,大通證(大陸居民往來臺灣通行證)及簽注需自行申請。 請先洽中國大陸戶籍所在地出入境部門確認。
2. 你的入境及出境日期必須為所報名課程的開始日及結束日。並非入台證上的有效日期,請嚴格遵守,切勿提前或延後入出境。
如果我手上已經持有一張有效的入臺證,我能否直接使用它入臺參加課程?
不行,入境事由必需與入境目的相符合。大陸籍學生僅能持有臺大協助申請的入臺證入臺參與短期研修課程。

1. 將手上持有的單次入臺證使用完畢;或
2. 向原先申請單位註銷已持有的入臺證
擇一完成後,臺灣大學才可以開始申請你的短期課程單次出入境之入臺證。申請時間約需要1.5至2個月,請務必保留足夠的入臺證辦理時間。
