Smart & Sustainable: Executive Insights in Taiwan

This executive program invites business leaders and AEC professionals to Taiwan to explore its advancing smart and sustainable development practices. Through focused industry exchanges with leading AEC organizations, participants gain direct insight into digital strategies, BIM-enabled workflows, and emerging sustainability approaches.

The program features discussions with owners, designers, and project principals who share leadership perspectives and real-world project experiences. Company visits and on-site observations highlight smart supervision and digital site applications in practice.

With a cultural tour in Taipei and a one-day visit to Taichung, the program concludes by offering participants a concise yet compelling understanding of Taiwan's progress in smart and sustainable development.

On-site Practices & Technical Implementation

Through company visits, participants observe smart supervision, digital site applications, and coordination workflows in action. These sessions emphasize operational practices and technology deployment on real construction projects.

2026 Summer+ Programs

Smart & Sustainable: Executive Insights in Taiwan (June 8 - June 12, 2026)


(Please be aware that the course will be taught in English, and all schedules are subject to change.)

Executive Insight Sessions

Talks and discussions led by owners, designers, and project principals offer strategic perspectives on decision-making, project governance, and leadership challenges in major development projects. These sessions highlight executive thinking rather than technical details.

Cultural & Urban Context Exploration

Activities include the Taipei Old Town Walk and the Taichung field visit, which deepen participants' understanding of Taiwan's social, urban, and cultural setting, enriching their perspective on development priorities and sustainability efforts.

Accommodation

The course fee does not include accommodation. If you require housing, please inquire via email, and we will do our best to assist with the arrangements.

Refund Policy

The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

The program fee is: 

  • Fully refundable if NTU cancels the program.
  • 90% refundable if the student cancels the program before the start of class.
  • 50% refundable if the student cancels the program before June 9, 2026.
  • Not refundable if the student cancels after June 9, 2026.

*The fee for activities won't be refunded if you choose to be absent from these activities.

* We reserve the right to verify the program's viability by May 15, 2026. If minimum enrollment is not met, the program may be subject to cancellation, with refunds provided accordingly.

Eligibility

Students who major in Civil Engineering or architecture and related fields.
(Junior, senior and graduate students have priority.)

Application Steps

Application procedures:

1. Register and verify your email.

2. Fill in the online application form.

3. Pay the application fee of USD 300 online by credit card. (non-refundable)

4. Upload Documents:

I. A current CV (PDF format)

II. Proof of employment (PDF format)

III. A business card (optional; PDF or image format)

IV. A 1-page statement of purpose outlining what technical or practical insights you hope to gain from the program (PDF format)

V. A headshot photo (JPG format)

5. Check the result: NTU will review the submitted documents and will send the acceptance/rejection notice.

6. Pay the program fee within 5 working days after receiving the acceptance notice. You can choose to pay by bank wire or by online credit card.

7. After NTU confirms your payment status, you can fill in the admission information. NTU will send you the Admission Letter and Pre-departure guide before the program starts.

 

* If you pay the program fee by bank wire to Hua Nan Commercial Bank, NTU Branch, please note that you need to consider the exchange rate discrepancy and the wire fees charged by your bank and Hua-Nan bank to make sure you make the exact amount paid to NTU account. Hua-Nan bank may charge an additional USD 20 wire fee.

Please note that it requires 1 to 1.5 months to apply for the ROC Exit/Entry Permit, students of Mainland China nationality must complete all the documentation before Apr 18. Please note that if you are currently outside of China, please do not leave the country until your Taiwan Entry Permit has been successfully approved.
