Digital & Green Transformation of the Built Environment

About

This program offers an exceptional opportunity for students and professionals to advance in digital and green transformation within the construction industry.

Participants would have the online introductory courses remotely before diving into the program, which means, they can have the courses at home first, and go right into the hands-on core project once they arrive in the classroom. By doing so, they can explore more through teamwork and discussions.

Other than the core on Applications in Digital & Green Transformation, participants can also choose a selective subject on either Sustainability in Construction or Construction Management, with the former subject focusing on energy modeling and carbon management, and the latter subject emphasizing 4D planning and data analytics.

Enriched by industry visits, cultural tours, and collaborative discussions, the program, hosted by the NTU BIM Center, provides an ideal platform to gain practical expertise and shape the future of construction.

Modeling & project-based learning

Students will gain in-depth knowledge and practical skills, including utilizing popular BIM tools (e.g., Autodesk Revit) to create parametric models, explore collaborative workflows, and analyze building component properties through a collaborative team project. They will showcase their efforts in final presentations, engaging in direct discussions with BIM experts to refine their understanding and approach.

Industrial on-site visits

Students will participate in industrial site visits, providing opportunities to deepen their understanding of BIM applications through insightful discussions and real-world interactions with experienced BIM professionals.

2025 Summer+ Programs

Digital & Green Transformation of the Built Environment (23rd June ~ 4th July, 2025)

The program provides students with 1+2 tracks of courses. \\"The BIM Application in Digital & Green Transformation\\" is mandatory for all students, and the other two subjects are selective: (1) Sustainability in construction. (2) Construction Management. Students can choose one of the two upon registration. Upon completing registration and paying the program fee, students will gain access to the online introductory courses starting in April 2025, ensuring they are well-prepared for the comprehensive in-person learning experience.
(Please be aware that the course will be taught in English, and all schedules are subject to change.)

Building Information Modeling (BIM) Course (3 NTU short-term program credits )

Participants will engage in intensive study sessions of 3-6 hours daily during the 2-week program, complemented by at least 3 hours of online introductory courses (which are prior to the in-class sessions) to ensure a solid foundation. A comprehensive project will be completed, with the schedule tailored to accommodate participants' proficiency and learning pace.

Cultural Tour & Activities

Participants will explore the captivating history of Taipei's Old Town through thoughtfully designed activities. By uncovering the unique stories behind iconic landmarks, participants will gain a deeper connection to and appreciation of the rich local culture of Taiwan.
