Purpose
To encourage NTU academic units to invite international visiting scholars and to increase academic exchange with international academic institutes, OIA offers subsidy for international scholarly exchange.
The main purpose of international scholars should be related to teaching or academic research, and the duration of stay should not exceed one year in principle.
Qualification and information
Every year NTU OIA provides 2 Nobel Prize level visiting scholar seats to individual college. (Qualification includes: Nobel Prize Winners, National Level Fellows or relavant qualifying experts and scholars) , NTU OIA will exempt the visiting scholar fee, and OIA will provides assistance and services as following:
- Invitation letter issuing
- Accomodation application
*Visa/ travel Taiwan document fee, accomodation fee will be paid by scholars.
After arrive in Taiwan
- Campus Tour
- Assitance in purchasing daily necessity
- Bank account opening
- NTU ID card
- NTU wifi access
*item 1-3 will be assisted by NTU students ambassadors
Application information
Application period
For 2024 visitors, the applicaiton period is from 2023 September 1st until 2023 December 20th.
How to apply
Please prepare visiting scholar nomination form, Curriculum Vitae of Scholars, scanned copy of ID, and send to us via colleague to intlscholar@ntu.edu.tw 。

The review result will be sent to applicants/host by the end of December, 2023.
