  1. At least Second-year Undergraduate student/First-year master’s student/First-year doctoral student. According to the year of study recorded in the Office of Academic Affairs system at the time of internal selection..
  2. TOEFL iBT 79 (Do not accept Home Edition) or IELTS 6.5.
  3. Not available to students in the Department of Law, College of Law, Department of Economics, College of Social Sciences, Department of Global MBA, College of Management, Department of Psychology, College of Science, Graduate Institute of Psychology, College of Science, College of Medicine, College of Public Health.
Quota
1 student for 1 academic year.
(Admitted students are limited to depart in the 1st semester of NTU, for their exchange of one semester or one academic year.)

Registration
Students must register as a full-time student at NTU and are liable for tuition fees at NTU while overseas. Students do not have to pay tuition fees to the host university, but remain liable for miscellaneous, accommodation, living, insurance, transportation and other personal fees.

  1. The language requirements listed are the minimum standards. Applicants are advised to look into specific departments and courses to ensure they meet all prerequisites and additional language criteria. The host institution reserves the right to deny admission if no suitable departments or courses are available.

  4. Courses with restrictions for exchange students:
    • The faculties of Medicine, Nursing, Psychology and Pharmaceutical Sciences are restricted to prior agreements between the exchanging faculties.
    • The faculties of Law and Economics do not accept undergraduate students
    • MBA is closed
    • Admission to the Earth Science programme is restricted to students that meet prerequisites of at least one year of geology or geophysics study.
    • Courses in the English Language Programme are only available to exchange students majoring in English at their home university or students who are very proficient in English (except the course "English for Practical Purposes")
    • Courses taught in Icelandic are generally not open to exchange students
  5. Course selection must total 30 ECTS credits per semester, where at least 60% of courses are within the students' major

  3. Students from countries outside EU/EEA must have health insurance. The cost of such insurance valid for six months varies from ISK 15,000 according to the policy. Applicants for a student residence permit who must undergo a medical examination should go to the Communicable Disease Control Health Clinic (Þönglabakki 1, 109 Reykjavík) before going to the Directorate of Immigration
