  1. At least First-year Undergraduate student/At least First-year master’s student (excluding doctoral students). According to the year of study recorded in the Office of Academic Affairs system at the time of internal selection..
  2. There should be no failed courses listed in your transcripts.

Registration
Students must register as a full-time student at NTU and are liable for tuition fees at NTU while overseas. Students do not have to pay tuition fees to the host university, but remain liable for miscellaneous, accommodation, living, insurance, transportation and other personal fees.
Academic Information
  1. Please note that the university has indicated that, due to the inability to assess the impact of future pandemics, the exchange program may be canceled at short notice even if a quota is allocated to our university.
    In addition, the travel advisory for Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau has been raised to Orange. Students planning to choose this university for exchange should take this into consideration.

  2. The language requirements listed are the minimum standards. Applicants are advised to look into specific departments and courses to ensure they meet all prerequisites and additional language criteria. The host institution reserves the right to deny admission if no suitable departments or courses are available.
    If any information provided in this table conflicts with the latest announcements from the exchange university, country, or region, applicants should follow the most recent official announcements from the respective university, country, or region.
    Exchange students who are selected and recommended by NTU are not allowed, after receiving admission approval from the host university, to request changes to the granted admission conditions, nor may they, if their exchange application is rejected by the host university, request to reapply under different conditions. Any such actions will result in immediate cancellation of their admission eligibility.

  3. Exchange transcripts are typically issued within approximately two months after the start of the following semester. Graduating exchange students who require transcripts urgently are advised to take this into careful consideration.

  6. Exchange students are not permitted to take courses across different faculties or academic years. If such arrangements are necessary, prior application and approval from the relevant faculty are required.

  7. Campus Distribution:

    Xiang'an Campus:
    Overseas Education College; School of Life Sciences; School of Medicine; School of Pharmacy; School of Public Health; School of Ocean and Earth Sciences; School of Environment and Ecology; Institute of Marine and Coastal Development; School of Energy; School of Aerospace Engineering; School of Informatics (undergraduate years 1–2); School of Electronic Science and Technology (undergraduate years 1–2, master’s year 1), among others.

    Siming Campus:
    All other faculties.

    Xiang'an Campus is located in Xiang'an District outside Xiamen Island and is approximately a 40-minute drive from Siming Campus.

  8. Non–Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Macau students will be subject to international student management regulations upon enrollment and are required to submit proof of HSK Chinese language proficiency:

    (1) For Chinese-taught programs, applicants should submit a valid HSK certificate. For applicants for Humanities, Economics, Management, Law, Arts and Traditional Chinese Medicine programs, HSK band 5 with a score of 210 or higher is required. For Sciences, Engineering and Medicine programs, HSK band 4 with a score of 210 or above is required.
    (2) Applicants who have taken all courses in Chinese during their current or previous degree studies are exempt from the HSK certificate requirement, but a medium-of-instruction certificate from the home institutions should be furnished.

    (3) For English-taught programs, a valid TOEFL-iBT ( 80 points or above/ higher) or IELTS Academic (6.0 points or above/ higher) is required. Native English speakers are exempt from this requirement.

Living Cost and Health Insurance
Purchase valid insurance in your home region to cover the exchange period at Xiamen University, and submit the insurance policy upon enrollment.

Exchange students must purchase insurance covering the exchange period in their original region.

Accommodation fees are approximately 400-600 yuan per semester for undergraduate students and 400-800 yuan per semester for master's students. Information on accommodation arrangements, specific fee methods, and standards will be notified separately by Xiamen University.
