- Third-year Undergraduate student/Fourth-year Undergraduate student/Fifth-year Undergraduate student/At least First-year master’s student (excluding doctoral students). According to the year of study recorded in the Office of Academic Affairs system at the time of internal selection..
- GPA should be higher than 3.30.
- TOEFL iBT 95 (Do not accept Home Edition) or IELTS 7.0, 僅具備英語能力者,請詳閱注意事項. or
- German at least B2(High-Intermediate) level.
- Not available to students in the College of Medicine, College of Public Health, College of Management, College of Bio-Resources & Agriculture.

Registration
Students must register as a full-time student at NTU and are liable for tuition fees at NTU while overseas. Students do not have to pay tuition fees to the host university, but remain liable for miscellaneous, accommodation, living, insurance, transportation and other personal fees.

- The language requirements listed are the minimum standards. Applicants are advised to look into specific departments and courses to ensure they meet all prerequisites and additional language criteria. The host institution reserves the right to deny admission if no suitable departments or courses are available.

- Students may take reference from previous course offerings by browsing the course catalogue.
- Courses at the School of Medicine and Dentistry are NOT available for exchange students. Those by the Faculty of Engineering Sciences are only partially available.
- Heidelberg University does NOT offer subjects in business, agriculture, and music (performing arts).
- Restrictions may apply for some courses in biosciences or biotechnology, and for some law courses. Exceptions can be made with permission from the coordinator in Heidelberg.
Language of Instruction
Typically, the language of instruction is German. However, there are several fields of study with a (large) variety of courses taught in English: i.e. English studies, American studies, economics, South Asian studies, and transcultural studies. A few courses in sociology, political science and psychology are also offered in English.
Some masters programs are (fully or partly) taught in English. This may also apply to advanced courses at the bachelor's level.

Practical Information
- Exchange students whose major is not German/Germanistik are strongly encouraged to register for the 4-week intensive preparatory German language course at the International Study Center (ISZ). The course is offered before the start of the semester, in September for fall semester students and in March for spring semester students. The fee for the preparatory German language course is covered by the International Relations Office for exchange students.

- Cost of Living: Approx. 900 - 1000 € / month. Please refer to the information on financial planning given on this website.
- Health insurance with unlimited coverage is compulsory for all Heidelberg University students. Exchange Students are advised to take out health insurance in Germany (a highly comprehensive coverage), or to ensure to bring full and unlimited health insurance coverage from their country of residence.
Accommodation Information
The private housing market in Heidelberg is very tight, and living in residence halls run by the Studierendenwerk is the most affordable and most convenient way of staying in Heidelberg as an exchange student.
Types of accommodation include:
• single room sharing kitchen and bathrooms in groups of 2-4
• single room in dormitories with kitchens and bathrooms on each floor
• a small number of single apartments
