- Spanish at least B1(Intermediate) level, B2 required for the following studies: Master's programs / Faculty of Economics and Business Studies / Faculty of Arts and Humanities for the following degrees: Hispanic Studies, Modern Languages, Culture and Communication..
- Not available to students in the College of Medicine, College of Public Health.

Academic Calendar
Registration
Students must register as a full-time student at NTU and are liable for tuition fees at NTU while overseas. Students do not have to pay tuition fees to the host university, but remain liable for miscellaneous, accommodation, living, insurance, transportation and other personal fees.
Academic Information
- The language requirements listed are the minimum standards. Applicants are advised to look into specific departments and courses to ensure they meet all prerequisites and additional language criteria. The host institution reserves the right to deny admission if no suitable departments or courses are available.
- The vast majority of courses at the host university are taught in Spanish. Students proficient only in English must independently verify that there are sufficient courses available for selection.
- In general terms, the limited offer of courses taught in English means that exchange students must take part of their courses in Spanish and for this, they must have at sufficient level of Spanish to follow their courses.

Practical Information
- The Language Service offers Spanish language courses at a reduced price for students from partner universities. More information is available on the Language Service website. Places are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The Study Abroad Unit offers a two-week intensive Spanish course called "Brush Up on Your Spanish" before the start of each semester, in both August and January. More information available at Brush-up on your Spanish | UAM.
- When a non-EU student arrives in Spain, they must have Health Insurance that includes Healthcare coverage throughout their stay at UAM. You will find many companies with which to contract health insurance. If you do not know what insurance to hire, you can consult the OnCampus Insurance, with prices that are quite affordable for university students.
