Application requirement
General Category
  1. At least First-year Undergraduate student/At least First-year master’s student (excluding doctoral students). According to the year of study recorded in the Office of Academic Affairs system at the time of internal selection., Required completion of two semesters of full-time tertiary study outside South Africa.
  2. TOEFL iBT 79 (Reading 18 Listening 17 Speaking 20 Writing 17 Do not accept Home Edition) or IELTS 6.5 (Listening 6.0 Reading 6.0 Writing 6.0 Speaking 6.0) or The General English Proficiency Test (High-Intermediate), Some departments may required higher language proficiency.
  3. Not available to students in the College of Medicine, Department of Accounting, College of Management, Graduate Institute of Accounting, College of Management, College of Public Health.
Quota
1 student for 2 semesters. (開放選擇 Semester 1 或 Semester 1+2)(人數限1名,可選擇一學期或兩學期,限於本校第2學期出國交換。)

Registration
Students must register as a full-time student at NTU and are liable for tuition fees at NTU while overseas. Students do not have to pay tuition fees to the host university, but remain liable for miscellaneous, accommodation, living, insurance, transportation and other personal fees.
Course Information
You can list more courses than you need credit for, but please make sure that you indicate how many credits you need, and which courses are compulsory for your programme. We will then liaise with the relevant academic departments.
*If you have not submitted any course requests (i.e. a completed learning agreement) your application will not be processed.
 
Students will only be allowed to register for courses that they have been approved for.
*The final course registration will be completed during and after the orientation, but the application for courses must be submitted with the online exchange application.

You can however take fewer courses than you were pre-approved for. The final learning agreement must be signed by your home coordinator.

Please also be aware of the fact that approval for courses at Stellenbosch is done by a very strict process, and approval/disapproval is the discretion of the relevant academic department/s. Course approval/disapproval feedback will be communicated continuously until arrival at Stellenbosch University.

When selecting courses ensure that you complete your application with the corresponding course codes and module names.

Proof of Medical Insurance
Insurance Information: ​Medical Cover 
Please note that all students are required to have South African medical insurance for the purposes of the visa application and registration at Stellenbosch University. Students will only be able to procure this after a letter of admission has been issued. As soon as the letter has been issued, apply for a South African Medical Insurance. This is a requirement from the Department of Home Affairs.

A study visa is normally issued for the duration of the academic programme, and it is each student's responsibility to maintain the validity of their study visa.

Please apply for your study visa the moment you receive your letter of acceptance from Stellenbosch University. It can take 6 – 8 weeks before you receive your visa and for that reason you need to apply timeously.
Do not come to Stellenbosch without an exchange or study visa. No student will be registered without a valid study visa.
