Every year, National Taiwan University welcomes students from all around the world for various programs. To help them settle in, the Office of International Affairs is recruiting a Welcome Ambassador Team for the upcoming Orientation Week. Are you fluent in both Chinese and English, interested in meeting international students from different parts of the world, and eager to introduce them to our campus? [Overview]

1. Registration is open until 23:59 on November 21st (Thursday). Please fill out the registration form before the deadline.

2. Requirements

  • Fluent in both English and Chinese. (*Meetings and seminars are conducted in Chinese)
  • Proactive and cooperative
  • For overseas Chinese students and international students, a valid work permit is required
  • We are also looking for those who are:
    • Experienced in exhibition interpreting/tour guiding.
    • Experienced in emcee.
    • Experienced in the production of promotional materials (ex. brochures, information graphics, illustration, etc.).

3. Estimated number of positions: 45-50 students

4. Job description

  • Responsibilities:

- Campus Tour Guide: Create scripts, design activities, and lead the campus tour

- College Welcome Party: Assist in activities, photo taking

- Orientation Sessions: Assist in registration, seat guidance, speaker reception

- International Student Registration: Assist in registration, document check, route guidance

- Placement Test for General & Enhancing Chinese Course: Assist in registration, route guidance

  •  Preparation Meetings:

- First work meeting & Campus tour training (must attend): 2024/12/23 (Monday) 13:40-17:00

- Campus tour online rehearsal (must attend): 2025/01/15 (Wednesday) or 2024/01/17 (Friday)

- Preparatory meeting (must attend): 2025/02/10 (Monday) 13:40-17:00

  • Work hours:

- Welcome Week: 2025/02/10 (Monday) ~ 2024/02/15 (Saturday) 

  •  Salary:

- You will be paid according to the number of hours of actual attendance at a rate set by the Ministry of Labor.

[Registration Procedure]

1. Registration

  • Kindly fill out the application form online: https://forms.gle/8PVej8iPPTsLJDcD6
  • Registration is open until 23:59 on November 21 (Thursday). Please fill out the registration form before the deadline.
  • The system will automatically send a copy of the completed form to your email.

2. Application interview

  • Please select all the time slots when you can attend the interview. Once the form is sent, it cannot be changed.
  • Interview date: 2024/12/2 (Mon.) to 2024/12/6 (Fri.)
  • Each interview takes about 20 minutes, with a maximum of 6 interviewees.
  • Interview location: Office of International Affairs, 7th Floor, Lixian Hall.
  • OIA will inform you about the actual time of the interview by email, so please be on time. Latecomers will be disqualified.

3. Result Announcement

  • The list with the admitted students will be announced on the website of the Office of International Affairs on 2024/12/13 (Fri.) before 17:00.
  • Only admitted students will receive a notice email with further instructions. Those who are not admitted will not be notified.
