✈️ 2026 UCInspire – 10-Week Undergraduate Research Program

Program Overview: UCInspire is a 10-week summer program designed for students who are interested in attending graduate school (Master's or Ph.D. programs) in the United States, particularly at UCI. We want to offer international students the following experiences:
- Training and mentorship from distinguished UCI faculty members and support from graduate students
- Access to world-class facilities
- On-campus furnished housing (2 students/room)
- Seminars on professional development and the graduate application process at UCI, The Henry Samueli School of Engineering.
- Weekend social and cultural activities to explore Southern California

Program Timeline:
- Application Deadline: January 14, 2026
- Online Interview: January 21 – February 12, 2026
- Acceptance Letters and Project Matching: February 18 – March 13, 2026
- Program Period: June 22nd -August 28, 2026
UCI-funded Slots: 2 students
Funding:
- UCI will provide 2 NTU students with a USD 3,000 program fee subsidy per student.
- All admitted NTU students will also receive a NT$50,000 scholarship from NTU, which will be disbursed after returning to Taiwan upon completion of the program.

- Program Fees: USD 7,550, covering health insurance, activities, administration, mentoring and project-related expenses, I-20 or DS2019 issuance fee for F1 visa or J1 visa, Transferable academic course credit fee, and non-refundable application fee.
Note: There is a non-refundable $50 application fee. - Additional Costs:
In addition, the student must separately cover the following:
- Visa fees required by the U.S. consulate
- Meals
- Housing. Students will have different options for housing. On-campus housing may be available at approximately $2700 per student during the program.
- Other personal and miscellaneous expenses
- Round-trip travel

Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Information and Computer Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Statistics
Eligibility:
- NTU undergraduate students (sophomore standing or above) with an academic background in the relevant fields listed above
- Minimum GPA of 3.3 each semester
Note: Applicants must maintain active NTU student status from the time of application through the end of the program.

- Proof of English proficiency, 85 iBT TOEFL or 6.5 IELTS
Application Procedure:
- Complete the online application on the UCInspire program website.
- Combine all application materials except recommendation letters into one PDF file (including CV, personal statement, transcript, and English test scores). File name format: Student ID + Full Name
