I. Program Overview

The NTUST Czech Overseas Study Program is scheduled to depart during the second week of November this year. NTUST invites you to join us on an exciting journey to the Czech Republic, a European industrial powerhouse renowned for its deep-rooted industrial expertise and highly skilled workforce.

Led by NTUST faculty members, this program offers an immersive learning experience combining academic exploration, company and laboratory visits, and cultural experiences.

Through cross-cultural learning activities, including laboratory visits, workshops, company visits, and interactions with local students and faculty, participants will gain insights into the distinctive features of Czech higher education and the development of engineering and technology. The program also aims to enhance participants’ foreign-language communication skills, expand their international networks, and build valuable international experience for future exchange opportunities, further studies, and career development.

II. Program Schedule

Academic Exchange:
Visits to renowned universities and laboratories in the Czech Republic, as well as participation in workshops organized by partner universities (tentative topics include energy sustainability and Czech industrial development):

• Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU)
• University of Hradec Králové (UHK)

Company Visits:
The list of participating companies will be announced once confirmed.

Cultural Experiences:

• Prague
• Hradec Králové

Tentative Program Dates:
November 8–13, 2026
(The final dates will be announced at the Pre-Departure Information Session on September 9.)

III. Eligibility

Currently enrolled Taiwanese students, including undergraduate and graduate students, are eligible to apply. Applicants must maintain their student status both at the time of application and throughout the overseas program.

IV. Financial Support

NTU will provide a scholarship of NT$50,000 to each selected student. The scholarship will be disbursed after the program has been completed and the student has returned to Taiwan.

V. Expenses to Be Covered by Students

Students are responsible for expenses including admission fees for cultural activities, local transportation, accommodation, passport fees, travel insurance, and personal expenses.

VII. Application Materials

1.    Curriculum Vitae / Résumé
No prescribed format. Must be written in English and limited to two A4 pages.

2.    Statement of Motivation
No prescribed format. Must be written in English and limited to two A4 pages.

3.    Official Academic Transcript
Either Chinese or English is acceptable. Applicants must request an official transcript from the Office of Academic Affairs, including grades for courses taken in the second semester of Academic Year 2025–2026.

4.    Proof of English Proficiency (optional)

IX. Announcement of Internal Selection Results

The internal selection results are expected to be announced by email by August 31, 2026.

X. Important Reminders

1.    Selected students are required to attend the Pre-Departure Information Session on September 9. Waitlisted students are also welcome to attend. If a selected student declines the offer, the position will be offered to waitlisted students in order.

2.    Before participating in the overseas study program, students should communicate with all course instructors in advance, obtain approval for any necessary leave of absence, and make appropriate arrangements for their coursework.

3.    If the program overlaps with classes, assignments, examinations, or other academic requirements, students must follow the instructions of their course instructors and proactively coordinate their academic arrangements to ensure that their learning rights and interests are protected.
