- First-year Undergraduate student/Second-year Undergraduate student/Third-year Undergraduate student/First-year master’s student/Second-year master’s student/At least First-year doctoral student. According to the year of study recorded in the Office of Academic Affairs system at the time of internal selection..
- TOEFL iBT 80 (Accept Home Edition) or IELTS 6.0.
- Not available to students in the College of Medicine, College of Public Health.

Registration
Students must register as a full-time student at NTU and are liable for tuition fees at NTU while overseas. Students do not have to pay tuition fees to the host university, but remain liable for miscellaneous, accommodation, living, insurance, transportation and other personal fees.
Academic Information
- The language requirements listed are the minimum standards. Applicants are advised to look into specific departments and courses to ensure they meet all prerequisites and additional language criteria. The host institution reserves the right to deny admission if no suitable departments or courses are available.

- Course Load/Required: Minimum 9 units need to be taken by students to be considered as full time students. Full course load is 21 units.
- Dentistry and Medicine are not open to exchange students.
- All student are compulsory to run the medical check up in USM Health Centre during the orientation week.
- All international students are required to apply for the Student Pass (Mobility) for the purpose of their stay in Malaysia.
- USM will assist International students throughout the application process in obtaining the student pass (Mobility) through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS)
- Students are not allowed to enter Malaysia prior getting approval from the Immigration Department of Malaysia and Single Entry Visa from Malaysian Embassy. An Approval Letter will be issued and USM IMCC will forward the Approval Letter to students.
