For 2022 Spring semester, NTU will offer online General and Enhancing Chinese Courses for NTU international students who are unable to enter Taiwan. For international students in Taiwan, courses will be offered in-person.
IMPORTANT: Online REGISTRATION for General & Enhancing Chinese Courses
New incoming international students who requested to apply for General and Enhancing Chinese Course will receive a follow up email for registration. Students must follow the email instruction and submit the completed registration form online before 12.00pm, January 20, 2021.
After registration, individual student will receive another email instruction to take Online Placement Test on September 18. You will be assigned with specific time slot between 9.00am to 3.00pm (Taipei, Taiwan time) to take this test.
For international students entering second year of study or above, please contact intstudent@ntu.edu.tw to apply for General and Enhancing Chinese Course before January 20.
General Chinese Courses are offered only for NTU's international students and can be added only by NTU staff after students submit the registration form. Students who wish to take the course are required to register and take the placement test on the designated date and place. (Bring Student ID Card or Admission Letter and a pen.)

Those who have never learn Chinese before may be opt-out of the placement test. However, you are still required to come to the registration. Your absence on that day will be considered as cancellation of enrollment, so it is imperative that you arrive on time. The placement test may take about one to one and a half hour after registration.
Students will:
1) Fill out the registration form(click and see the sample).
2) Choose day class or night class and decide whether to add Enhancing Chinese or not.

3) Take written test (Students who are complete beginners don't need to take any test).

Make-up registration/ placement test
No make-up registration/placement test for 2022 Spring semester.
For those who cannot arrive in Taiwan by February 15, 2020, you shall notify OIA (intstudent@ntu.edu.tw) and go to Chinese Language Division (CLD) with your NTU admission letter and passport for the registration and make-up placement test at the following prescribed time.

The make-up placement test is only offered to those who arrive in Taiwan later than the prescribed registration day (February 15). If you miss the registration day and placement test for other reasons, no make-up registration and make-up test are allowed and you will not be able to attend the General Chinese Course and Enhancing Course.
